Having a Whale of a Time!

I really enjoyed helping amazing willow weaver Deb Hart with her fabulous Beached Whale design for Harwich Festival of the Arts. I spent four days of a week long community arts project weaving willow in the sunshine by the sea. How lucky am I? On the last day we had children ( and some adults too) learning to make willow fish and starfish which they could weave onto the whale or take home. I first met Deb at The Old Bank Studios (run by Bev and Nigel Caleno) in Harwich when she was teaching a Polish basket workshop. My thanks to Deb for the opportunity to be involved with such a large scale sculpture and hone my skills.

See ...I can do this with my eyes closed!
