Snow and cold stops play ...

I spent a happy two mornings back in February with my basket mad friends harvesting some different varieties of willow from local beds for spring baskets and sculpture.  Freshly cut willow - in the green - perhaps needs a little while to settle before its used but with this weather it may be a while ...

This snowy weather means its 'jolly' cold in the workshop and the water in the soaking trough is frozen solid which means even the dried willow is taking simply ages to become workable.  Guess it will be a while before this girl is “simply twisting” again.
